Our Story

Founded on a Simple Calling

Samaritan’s Global Outreach (SGO) was founded in March of 2011 by Donnie and Carol McWaters. Located in Oneonta, Alabama, the ministry has been focused on reaching out to the poor and needy of the world who are in need of a helping hand and a compassionate heart.

Serving as mission pastors for many years, Donnie and Carol have been involved in missions work within the United States as well as around the world. After much prayer and the leading of the Holy Spirit, they were led to establish SGO.

Making a Difference

Meeting Needs, Pointing to Purpose

SGO has grown and is more determined than ever to be involved in the lives of those hurting and in search of their purpose. Meeting the needs of people is the first step in directing them to the purpose God created them for. Through clean water projects, construction projects, prayer ministry, partnering with churches, mentoring, and leading others to a deeper relationship with God, we are making a difference.

SGO is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) organization and is recognized as a Christian ministry by the National Association of Christian Ministries.

Our Vision

“To help ALL God’s creation find their God-given purpose by reaching out with a compassionate heart and a helping hand.”

Our Purpose

The purpose of Samaritan’s Global Outreach is to reach out and find those in need and minister to their needs while sharing the love of Christ. We partner with a non-denominational network of churches, local organizations, and civic groups to identify and minister to all who have needs.

Volunteers who have a calling from God on their lives are used to meet a variety of needs both physically and emotionally. We have construction teams, prayer teams, discipleship training, mentoring, and other volunteers to reach out with a compassionate heart and a helping hand.

What We Believe

Statement of Faith

We believe the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is the inspired word of God. It is the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.

2 Timothy 3:16, Galatians 1:8

We believe God is the creator of all things, is all powerful, all-knowing, and sovereign to do as He wills.

Jeremiah 32:17, Psalms 24:1, 1 Samuel 2:6-9

We believe there is only one true God and He is the eternal triune God who reveals Himself to us as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, with distinct attributes but without division of nature, essence, or being.

Matthew 28:19, John 4:24

We believe salvation has been provided to all men through the atoning blood of Jesus. We are saved by grace through faith, apart from works. Anyone who repents and believes in Him is born again and becomes a child of God and receives the gift of eternal life.

Titus 3:4-7

We believe that Jesus was literally conceived and born as flesh and blood of a virgin who was named Mary.

Isaiah 7:14, Luke 1:26-33

We believe by his own free choice man sinned against God and brought sin into the world. Because of that sin man is in need of Jesus Christ as his Savior and Redeemer.

1 Corinthians 6:9-11, Romans 3:23

We believe that empowerment for service comes from the filling of the Holy Spirit.

1 Peter 2:22, 1 John 3:5

We believe in water baptism as a testimony of faith and obedience to Jesus Christ.

Matthew 28:19, Acts 2:38-41

We believe that those who die rejecting God’s grace will die and spend eternity in a literal place called hell. Those who die having received eternal salvation and claim Christ as their Savior will inherit eternal life in heaven.

Matthew 25:46, Psalms 9:17, John 3:16, 2 Timothy 2:10

We believe in the observance of communion (the bread and the cup) as a means to remember our Lord.

Luke 22:19, 1 Corinthians 11:24

We believe all ministers of Christ should lead by His example of a servant and never use his leadership role for self-gain. We recognize Christ is the head of the church and He alone should govern it.

John 13:3-16, Philippians 2:3-8

We believe in the return of Christ for His church when He will gather His people together to Him both living and dead.

Matthew 24:30-36, John 14:1-3, 1 Corinthians 15:21-23
